EDUCATION APOSTOLATE OF CSM
“And that from childhood you have known the sacred writings which are able to give you the wisdom that leads to salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus” (2 Timothy 3:15).
For the Congregation of Sisters of St. Martha, education is the important weapon to form a human life in accordance with the will of God. Nelson Mandela says “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” In this fashion, it is one of the extensive apostolate of CSM to change one’s life and society at large. Every family becomes the first school as education for a child begins at home. Education certainly determines the quality of a person’s life improves one’s knowledge, skills. It also develops the personality and attitude of every individual.
Our apostolate in the field of education is of vital importance. The aim of our education is to impart sound education by forming the children in good habits of piety, virtue, discipline and self-reliance during the years of their studies. Our sisters are involved in this apostolate as guiding light in their surroundings. They take active interest in the character formation and personality development of the students and earnestly communicate gospel values to the staff, students and parents through their teaching and witnessing lives.
Education is a ray of light in the darkness. It certainly is a hope for a good life. According to the constitution of India, the right to preliminary education is a fundamental right. CSM has a rainbow of educational institutions under its two provinces. We run nursery and primary classes where the hearts of the little ones are kindled with flames of wisdom and love of God. We serve in other corporate management schools and in our own aided schools in Malayalam, English, Hindi and Tamil Medium etc.
EDUCATION APOSTOLATE - LOURDE NATHA
Education is to teach the students to live, to discover the deeper meaning of life and of transcendence, to learn to interact with others, love creation, think freely and critically, find fulfillment in work, plan their future, or in one word to learn ‘to be’. It is in and through education that one can hope for a more human and humane future and a more harmonious society.
By offering early education to the children from the pre-primary school level onwards Lourde Natha province contributes to the fundamental development of their innate human resources and qualities so as to build up a just and honest society. Actually our education mission is not intended simply on imparting existing knowledge, information and skills to the students on a regular basis, but is really concentrated on their character formation and formatting the design of their lives by the wisdom of God. Our sisters working in the schools maintain a good rapport with the students to confirm this process intact. Through counselling and home-visits the students are guided wisely. The students are introduced not only into the world of books but also to the world of life experiences by giving them awareness classes on motivation, empowerment, courage, self esteem with the help of outdoor pedagogical teaching methods, aids and exposures.
